What is Yungaburra Association?
Yungaburra Association Inc. is primarily a link between our community and the Tablelands Regional Council, neighbouring chambers of commerce, Tablelands Tourism and the state government.
It is made up of business owners, representatives of local organisations/clubs, and individuals endeavouring to make our community a better place to live in, work in, or visit.
What are some of our Achievements?
- In 2026 we are the peak organisation behind the Gillies 100 Celebration. We have contributed significant funds to this cause.
- In 2023-2024, YAI and Yungaburra Landcare were the primary movers behind saving the Peterson Creek Walking Track north of Penda Street which was under threat of development. After a long and arduous campaign by YAI and Yungaburra Landcare, Council ended up purchasing around 2000 sqm of land from the developer and ‘saved’ the track for future generations.
- We support projects within our community:
- e.g. in 2024 we contributed funds for the restoration of a 100 year old kerosene powered street lamp which was installed outside the visitor’s centre.
- We support the Yungaburra Military Commemoration sub-group (who arrange Anzac Day and Remberance Day commemorations, and local business involvement through the Christmas Markets.
