Interesting Local Walks
1. Lake Eacham Hotel (1910). Built by the Williams family to meet local needs and to serve visitors brought from Cairns by rail. The Hotel features silky oak and Queensland maple timbers. The lounge, dining room and staircase are still in their original form. The hotel was expanded in 1926.

14. Post Office. Built in 1926-27 in the same style as many Tableland Post Offices.
2. Yungaburra Butchery. Built in 1922 by the Williams family, to sell meat from their slaughterhouse near Peterson's Creek.
15. Community Hall (1910). A hotel hall used for countless dances. The first meeting of the Eacham Shire Council was held here on 22 February 1911. It was moved from the far side of the hotel to its present position in 1925. Run as the Tivoli Cinema from 1928 to 1969.
3. Garage and Sales Room. In 1922 the Williams family established a garage and car salesroom here. There was a haberdashers nearby where the take-away arcade is now situated.
4. The Timber Mill. Built in 1910. Logs, loaded from a ramp in the railway reserve were railed to Cairns for export.
16. Stone Wall. This was built for 75 pounds as a "fire insurance" as a requirement of the insurance company when the Community Hall was used as a cinema.
5. St Mark's Anglican Church. Built in 1911, consecrated in 1913. This little church was served by the Bush Brothers in times past.
6. The Gables. Built around 1912 as the bank manager's residence. 17. Cafe. Built in 1928 for Tivoli Cinema patrons.
18. Auctioneers Rooms. Built in 1926 for O.L. Evers.
7. Gillies Cottage. Built in 1910 for Mr David Gillies, the first returning officer for the Eacham Shire Council and the captain of the ambulance brigade.

19. Tailors Shop. Built in 1925. Later became a private residence and then a TAB.

8. Williams House. Built in 1926 for a family member. It stands on land that was originally known as "Allumbah". It eventually fell into disrepair but a series of owners have restored it to its present good state.
20. Billiard Saloon and Hairdressers. Built in 1926. Behind these buildings were hotel gardens worked by Chinese.
9. St Patrick's Catholic Church (1913). This church was served for many years by Augustinian Priests. The first was Father Doyle, (1913 to 1924), to whom the bell tower is dedicated.
21. Bank of NSW. Built in 1912 and remained a bank until 1965. Staff lodgings were located at the rear.
22. Cedrella. Built in 1912 and named after a native timber, this home was built by the mill manager Charlie Belson and was once the social hub of town with lavish garden parties and lawn tennis.
10. Police House. Built in 1926. The first Policeman's house.
11. Court House. This was the first Yungaburra School, built in 1911 on the present school reserve. It was moved to its present site in 1917 when it became to small.
23. CWA (Country Women's Association). Built in 1938 on railway reserve land. Maude Kehoe Park was named after the lady who ran the Lake Eacham Hotel for 61 years. She started at age 16, running the Allumbah Shanty for her family, the Williams. In 1913 she married John Kehoe in the then new St Patricks Church.
12. "Old Kulara" was part of one of the Army Hospitals at Rocky Creek near Tolga. It was moved and rebuilt here by the late Mr. Alf Davis, formerly of Kulara. Kulara is now under the waters of Lake Tinaroo following the construction of the Tinaroo Dam.
24. Methodist Church. Built in 1927. It later became Yungaburra's Uniting Church. It was sold in 1997 and converted for commercial use.
13. Williams Lodge. Built by James Dunstan in 1911 and purchased by the Williams Family in 1915.
