Tinaroo dam wall, Atherton Tablelands, Queensland, Australia Lake Tinaroo – Danbulla Forest Drive

Starting at Tinaroo Township, drive to the Tinaroo dam wall to view the current level of the lake. Continue along Tinaroo Falls Dam Road to encircle the lake. This road is not suitable for caravans and ensure that you check the road conditions in advance.

Danbulla State Forest has six camping areas. For bookings and payment, click more info. Along this road, are several bushwalking tracks, including the Mobo Creek Crater, Lake Euramoo and Cathedral Fig Tree. This road exits on Boar Pocket Road to the Gillies Highway.

Meander across the Atherton Tablelands towards Ravenshoe to visit The Crater, located in Mt Hypipamee National Park. A gentle walk through beautiful rainforest brings you to the site of this geological oddity – a volcanic pipe crater. Swim at Dinner Falls, and enjoy a picnic in the carpark. This is a top area for night time spot lighting for possums.

Waterfall Circuit, Atherton Tablelands, Queensland, Australia Waterfall Circuit

Drive towards Millaa Millaa to enjoy the Atherton Tablelands Waterfall Circuit. First stop is Malanda which has a waterfall you can drive over. Then travel south to view the famous Millaa Millaa Falls.

Other beautiful stops are Elinjaa, Zillie and Mungalli Falls. There are several cafes along the way to taste local produce and cuisine, or take a picnic to enjoy right by the water.
